Fridays tidbits

I'm going to keep this post really short because I'm blogging from my phone. Time Warner cable, the company that runs our tv and internet, was down for the whole afternoon and much of the evening, so I wasn't able to blog on my laptop. Blah. Anyway, I started the day with step class ,and about halfway through I could barely keep my eyes open.... weird. And before you guys say it, NO, I'm not pregnant. I haven't been sleeping well for awhile now, so I guess my body is trying to slow me down a bit. I haven't had insomnia in a few nights, but I still wake up 6 times a night, which isn't good for getting healthy sleep. So that may be why I was so sleepy in the middle of intense cardio. I did manage to sleep for an hour before I picked up the girls, and we just hung around the house until their dad came.
Tomorrow we had plans for something, but that fell through so I'm going to catch up on some much needed rest! I will have time to upload some photos too, so be on the lookout for those :)

Double Zumba Day

I love Thursdays because I attend 2 zumba classes, but boy am I tired at the end of the day!!! Zumba class #1 was awesome as usual. Afterward, I drove down to Honolulu to pick up our 2nd end table that we had to special order when we bought the new furniture. When I got home, I had every intention to do some cleaning and dusting, but all I ended up doing was a load of laundry, the floors, and running the dishwasher. I ended up taking a nice nap on the couch as well! On a good note, I found out the girls will be staying here in Hawaii for a bit longer, yay!!!! Now we can plan more baking and after school activities!
Ahh, what else.... zumba class #2 was good too, we did a new dance that works the upper thighs (a problem area for me!) and I really liked it, but my hip wasnt too much of a fan at first! I hung out with Kevin for a bit at work, and we had leftover lasagna for dinner. I am proud to say that I didnt have to cook any meals today, it was all leftovers (and cereal for breakfast!).
Tomorrow, I have step class in the morning, then I'm picking the girls up from school. I have no idea what we are going to do for the afternoon, but I will think of something! Zumba class wiped me out today, so I'm headed to bed--good night yall!

Hump Day Happenings

Even though today was my day off from the gym, it was still busy! It didnt help that I couldn't wake up for the life of me this morning, and I was dragging butt for half of the afternoon! I picked up the girls from school today (they had a half day), and we were going to go to the pool, but they forgot their swimsuits. We ended up going to Dole Plantation instead. There we had some always yummy Dole Whip (it was their first time trying it and they loved it!), and walked around taking pictures. I do have some pictures, but its late and I really dont feel like uploading them tonight. I promise you guys I will post a week update in pictures on Friday or Sunday! We had a great time there, until it started raining and we had to hightail it back to the car! We dropped by the store to pick something up for Kevins office, then made him lunch and hung out with him at the hangar for a couple of hours. The girls' dad was there taking care of some work stuff, so we all just sat around talking and having a good time. The girls even helped Kevin shred a bunch of extra paper they didnt need. I got some good pictures of them hanging out in a Blackhawk, with headphones on and everything! One of the pilots even showed them how to talk to each other using the headsets :) They had a really good time, and so did I! I really am going to miss them when they have to go back to TN tomorrow :(
Once home, I made some honey pecan porkchops from a recipe I got off of Pinterest. Let me just say that Pinterest is my new addiction. I can spend hours on that site, just looking at all of the neat things people find! *Do any of you guys share the Pinterest obsession??* The chops came out really good, and I paired them with homemade mashed potatoes and steamed green beans--deee lish! Plus, Kevin really liked them, so score!
Well, its past my bedtime, and I have zumba tomorrow morning (and evening!). I hope you guys have a lovely rest of the week, and I will try to get those photos to you asap! Oh, and the Project 365 will start soon, I just have to have some time to put the page together!

Busy Day Part 2

Okay, first of all, I am running on 3 and a half hours of sleep. Damn insomnia. I wasnt able to fall asleep until 5 o freaking clock this morning even after taking sleep aids. Somehow I was able to get up, make a nice breakfast for Kevin, attend Zumba even though I dropped it low a little too much at last nights zumba class, so I was SORRRRRE today. I made it through class and even managed to do some upper body muscle toning! After the gym, I had exactly enough time to go home, shower, and make it on time to pick the girls up from school. We spent the afternoon baking, then I cooked dinner, so it was a really go go go day! I am seriously feeling the sleep deprivation and lack of energy, so I am headed to bed!
Tomorrow, I'm SLEEPING IN. The girls have to go back home to TN on Thursday, so I am picking them up from school and spending the afternoon at the pool, per their request :) I'm going to miss them alot, they are really awesome young ladies to chill out with...and the best baking assistants a gal could ask for!
I will have more tomorrow for you guys :)

Busy Busy Monday!

I've barely sat down all day!!! This morning I got up (and it took ALOTTT for me to crawl out of bed) and went to step class, came home and immediately started making meal #1 on my menu planner-- Maple and brown sugar pancakes--for Kevin (I got a thumbs up from him on those-they were pretty good!). As he ate, I cleaned up the kitchen, started laundry, and ran upstairs to take a shower. I was able to sit down for like an hour before Kevin went into work, and I continued to do laundry and straighten up the house. The girls came over this afternoon, so I was hanging out with them (I didnt sit down--they had crazy amounts of energy today!!), then I made Kevin some lunch and took the girls up to the hangar with me. We hung out there for a bit (I still didnt sit down!), before we had to come back and meet the girls' dad. I then got dressed and headed to zumba. Might I just say that zumba kicked.my.ass today! Immediately following zumba, I came home and started on menu planner meal #3--honey sesame chicken (yummo!), and headed back up to the hangar to have dinner with Kevin. It was there that I finally had an opportunity to sit down! Ahhh so here I am , back at home, and sitting down...it feels pretty nice lol
Because I was so busy (and for some reason my custom header disappeared from my open internet pages), I couldnt get any work done on my Project 365 blog. So instead of it launching today, I will have to launch it sometime later this week :( I'm really excited to start working on it too, I've just been so darn busy! Anyway, that was my day! Tomorrow, I dont have to be at the gym until 1145, and even then, if my hip is still bothering me (it hurts pretty bad tonight) I wont go. I thought about going to spin class, but Kevin is on nights this week and I really want to spend some mornings with him. Plus, I have a really nice breakfast planned for him! I will be picking the girls up from school tomorrow, and we are baking massive amounts of chocolate chip cookies for Kevins co-workers!!
For now, though, I am headed to B-E-D.

Saturday in pictures

Since we spent most of today sitting around, then spending some time at the commissary, I thought I would share a few pictures from yesterday!

This was actually taken at the Company picnic on Friday
We started our day by heading to the other side of the island.

Cheesin' it up on our "roadtrip" to the windward side
Once we were done completing our errands, we stopped to take some pictures of Kaneohe Bay, which is beautiful by the way!

This bay is where we went the 4th of July. You can see the light colored sandbars within the bay

See what looks like train tracks?? This is a hiking trail that is called "The Stairway to Heaven". This picture doesn't do it justice, as the "train tracks" go all the way up the mountain. It's practically straight up and down, so the trail has been closed for some time now. Its insane though!!
When we were back on our side of the island, we decided to go out to eat for a late lunch. Kevin hadn't been to the shrimp trucks down in Hale'iwa, so off we went. We ate here:

I had the Pineapple Shrimp, and Kevin had the Kalbi Short Rib. Delicioso!
So that was our Saturday! Tomorrow starts another work week for Kevin, and another week of projects for me! I did a 2 week menu plan, and I'm excited to start cooking some of the recipes that I have listed on the plan :) I'm going to the gym tomorrow of course, and I'm planning on getting our DVD case stained to match the rest of our furniture. I would like to get some photos hung as well :) Oh, and I will be starting my Project 365, so be on the look out for that link! Good night everyone!

Busy Saturday!

We had a busy busy day today! Once we were up and ready, we headed to the Marine Corps base to pay a bill and pick up the new bag for my camera. We stopped by Ross on the way home to get Kevin some new dress pants and a couple of dress shirts. I saw quite a few things I would like to get for the house there (what a shocker. lol), and I plan on going back some time this week after all of our bills are paid to get a couple of things I had my eye on. For lunch, we decided to eat at the shrimp trucks down in Hale'iwa. These trucks are really well known, and their food is delicious! It was Kevin's first time eating there, and he really liked it!
The rest of the afternoon was spent reading/watching the second to last Harry Potter movie (Kevin) and creating a menu planner/grocery list for the next two weeks (me). I only got a full weeks worth of stuff written down--its harder than I thought! I want to mix up our meals and not have the same things all of the time, but we are staying on a budget too, and I dont want to have to load up my cart with all of these exotic ingredients that I'm only going to use rarely. Such a challenge! I'm really excited to get into the swing of things and save some serious money!
Also, Kevin and I talked about going home for Christmas, and since he isnt deploying, we may not be going home for Christmas. With me not being able to get a job yet, and the price of airline tickets at 1200 bucks or higher per ticket, we may not be able to afford to go home until a little later. I am really bummed out, because *Oh boy, I never thought I would say this* I NEED some time away from this island! Plus, I miss my family and want to see my 9-1/2 neices and nephews (1/2 because one is still baking!). Kevin wants to see the family too, so we are going to try and see what we can do. *sigh* stupid airline fares...
Tomorrow, we are planning on going to the beach at some point in the day. It's Sunday, so its sleep in day here at the Buzuleciu house. Even the cats sleep in on Sundays! Other than the beach, who knows what will happen :)

*I know I promised you guys some pictures (and I took more today), but I am getting really tired, and I spent a TON of time on the meal planner thing today, so I will try and get those uploaded ASAP*

In the meantime, I've got a date with my pillow starting now--midnight is WAYYYY past this old lady's bedtime!!!
